The plan today was to go on the Bloomington Bicycle Club ride. I decided not to go since it would have been longer than yesterday’s ride and would also have some hills, which I don’t think I’m ready for yet. Instead, I headed out to get my car from the Bryan Park Pool parking lot around 3:30pm. Once I started out on that short (4.7 mile) ride, I was glad that I didn’t go on the BBC ride. I would definitely not have been able to complete the ~25 mile ride.
After sitting around for a few hours after getting home, I got up the courage to go for another solo ride, just so I didn’t feel like today was a complete waste. I ended up doing 12.33 miles in almost exactly one hour. I’m pretty impressed by that. I know that 12.33 mph is not a fast speed at all, but given that I just got back on the bike on Wednesday, I think it’s quite the accomplishment.
Another accomplishment of the day is that today is the first day since I started weighing myself again that I lost weight. On Wednesday through Saturday, my scale showed 266.4. It was surprising and then frustrating that my weight wasn’t budging a bit. Then, this morning when I weighed myself, my scale popped up the number 263.2. I was quite pleased. It’ll be interesting to see what happens tomorrow morning. I’m hoping we don’t have a return to 266.4.
